Tropical Splash made its audience dance in the hot and passionate rhythms of especially soca, calypso, cumbia, reggaeton, salsa, afrobeat, samba, bossanova and even Bollywood on many long and sweaty nights the Funky Amigos deejays running the show with their guests.
The Tropical Splash club, with a focus on deejaying and occasional percussion sessions, ended during the Covid-19 pandemic. In recent years, Funky Amigos has been occasionally organizing Funky Friday clubs at Kino Konepaja, but who knows if Tropical Splash will still one day also make a comeback.
The club was being organized since autumn 2016 till the end of 2018 once a month at Navy Jerry’s in the heart of the modern city center of Helsinki. The main hosts and deejays of the club were DJ’s Magic Sam and Funky Ville with occasional guests behind the 1 and 2’s as well as in percussions. Tropical Splash was also occasionally organized in the floating club venue of Merikerho in Helsinki.
