For Funky Amigos and our wide family, year 2025 has already held the comeback of Funky Awards gala, a march to support the antiracist Finland, various dj workshops, our new Sober & Funky dance club series opening as well as programme production for World Village Festival, where we also provided all the deejays, and Helsinki Day celebration in Suvilahti. On Saturday the 12th of July, our annual urban culture festival Elephantasy – Funky Family Picnic will take over the idyllic Alppipuisto park in Helsinki for already the 16th time. Because of all this rush, we haven’t even had the time to keep our website updated while we have promoted the events almost completely only on social media (so sorry for that!).
However, that’s not gonna be the end of the story this year! Instead, year 2025 will ultimately culminate with a funky surprise blast! The legendary Funky Elephant festival and one of the most charismatic live bands in the local scene, Eternal Erection, are celebrating their 30th anniversary which passed last year and will now make a mutual comeback together after been eight years missed in funky action!
The mini festival to be organized on Saturday 1st of November, 2025 in Korjaamo Culture Factory in Helsinki will present the special Anniversary Show by the legendary band led by Sam Huber but also other live acts to be announced later. Eternal Erection has warmed up for bands such as George Clinton’s P-Funk Allstars, toured abroad as well as released seven albums plus several other recording and music videos gathering a significant fan base especially in Finland. Ticket sales start in the end of summer, so we strongly recommend to keep your eyes open for it as this will be a special night not to be missed. You should mark it in the calendar right away.
