Frequently named as Finland’s Jimmy Smith, Hammond-organist Kalle Salonen is one of the top names of Finnish groove jazz. His first album Cat Slide amazed listeners here in Finland as well as abroad. The follow-up is strong for his new album, Barracuda Man, released in February 2016, takes the music closer towards soul and blues music. The album also features guests Marjo Leinonen and Johanna Försti, one of the most famous Finnish soul singers, of which the latter we will have the pleasure of joining the stage with Kalle and his band at the Funky Elephant Festival.
